it was one seminar i enjoyed.. the new seven qc tools.. hmm.. i thought i would be asleep even for a slight moment, but danny and jay (lecture-providers) made sure i wouldn't.. hehe.. basically all these seven topics were all about non-quantitative data (words and ideas) organization.. i was particularly amused with the example they made to demonstrate the prioritization matrix.. dig this: the task was to select the best suitor, one is rich, looks like eddie gil, and arrogant; the other is dead poor, looks like aga muhlach, and was 'medyo bastos'; the last one is lower middle class, looks like bayani agbayani, and is a goody-goody dude.. then after some comparative matrix mumbo-jumbos which include computations of values less than one, the bayani-look-alike emerged the winner.. go figure how..
the gang was here just an hour ago.. doki, setay, andro, mel, and kuluts raided the 'dogi-pound', or so it seems.. they came away with some 'unclaimed' cd's.. we were supposed to finish off the long-overdue black label.. as i said manamis-namis na sya sa sobrang tagal.. but it seems this one's meant to last.. nagkatamaran uminom for some reasons.. maybe the pizza has something to do with it.. anyway, twas just a typical tambay session with some recycled stories, internet tripping with other people's friendster account (bad cow, bad octopus, u two shud be spanked, hehe), and 'burning' session, among others.. we had a good time.. mabababaw lang naman kami e, hehe..
some thoughts:
"You never lose by loving. You always lose by holding back."
- Barbara DeAngelis
found this one on a stray notepad file on my desktop, which serves as my 'soft' scratch paper..
by this time, setay is also blogging.. hehe.. moo..!

maski title wala akong maisip..
yesterday was quite eventful.. yet, i find it hard to make an entry out of it, the creative writing juices aren't flowing freely today, hehe.. just came across this Leonna Naess mp3 file.. it's a pretty neat song, i remember singing this one very often back then when it was tops on NU 107 chart.. and this is a girly song. aYos..
Charm Attack (Leona Naess)
from the album 'Comatised'
He's the kind of guy
Who's always passin' by
Who never has time to spend
And he'll take you for a spin
And won't look within
To find out who you are
And he numbs himself with weed
He's from the coldest breed
Who judge by what they see
And I thought he was
Smart enough to know
That the girl on his arm
Will never calm his storms
Watch out, he'll charm you
Chorus:
Smoother than the L.A. weather
That's how he holds himself together
He is colder than the winter
I wrap my coat around to bear the
Cataract of his charm attack
That leaves me hungry
Well, I'm no savior
But I tried to save you
With all my love
that rages high inside.
And he has his minions
With no real opinions
'Cause they all walk on glass
And your lies become the truth
And give me the proof that you really care
With your gorgeous grin
You have the world sucked in
Believin' in everything you say
Watch out, he'll charm you
Chorus(2x)
And he stamps on every emotion
And he dampens each and every explosion
(repeat)
gonna work tomorrow.. pambayad-utang..

chopsuey..
i had my third process orientation yesterday to new operators in about a week, and it looks like i don't wanna do it again for the next 30 days or so.. it's good at the first time, the second is still alright, but on the third i already felt like a tv show rerun.. it's just now i realized that it takes passion for someone who does teaching as a living to sustain it for a long time.. my hats off to them..
and so it came to pass.. mike, chester, and the rest of linkin verb.. er, park, set foot to manila and performed live at the ccp open grounds last night.. i still don't have feedback yet from badette regarding the affair, but i'm pretty sure it was a blast.. i wasn't able to watch because.. just because. doki got to hear it via phone patch from badd (on the chorus part of 'in the end'), as stated in doki's text message which i failed to reply to because i was struggling to get past the washington wizards in the first game of the eastern conference finals (which i eventually lost), and i kinda forgot about it later on.. so there..
as i predicted, the detroit pistons won the NBA finals in five games over the pre-finals favorite LA lakers, 100-87.. big ben wallace contributed 18 points and 22 rebounds, and chauncey billups, the most consistent player on the pistons' side all through out the Finals, got the Finals MVP plum.. well deserved, i say.. i gotta watch the replay tonight (10pm, IBC 13), even though it was far from being a classic finals game.. the pistons lead all the way after surviving the lakers' jackrabbit start, which found themselves trailing behind by seven early in the first quarter.. and i said i'm gonna sleep early tonight.. ayos.. gotta start to think what good movie to watch, hmm..
yun lang. =)

isa pa sa Palace..!!
AUBURN HILLS, Michigan (Ticker) -- The Detroit Pistons remain unrelenting. The Los Angeles Lakers are unraveling.
The Pistons moved within one win of the greatest upset in NBA Finals history, finishing with a rush in an 88-80 Game Four victory over the Lakers, who appear to be going down in a hailstorm of missed shots and unmet expectations.
An emotional Rasheed Wallace emerged from a personal prison of foul trouble to collect 26 points and 13 rebounds. He teamed with Chauncey Billups and Richard Hamilton to fuel a 32-point fourth quarter that brought The Palace of Auburn Hills to a fever pitch and pushed the Lakers to the brink.
Wallace took advantage of a hobbled Karl Malone and abused his smaller substitutes as he effectively worked his inside-outside game.
Detroit's defense survived an assault by Shaquille O'Neal, who had 36 points and 20 rebounds but was reduced to a one-man team. As they have throughout the series, the Pistons shut down most of his teammates and corraled Kobe Bryant, who made just 8-of-25 shots as he fired away at will.
For the fourth straight game, the Pistons were the more energetic, hungrier team. When the series started, many wondered how they were going to win one game. Now it's hard to imagine them losing one.
The Pistons hold a commanding 3-1 lead and can win their first NBA title in 14 years here Tuesday.
this stirring game 4 win by detroit got me free lunch this afternoon, and hopefully a movie ticket if the pistons will finish the series on their last home game of the season on wednesday morning.. it'll be a pretty enough consolation after an 'on me' pizza.. as i predicted, pistons in five, it will be..

Kobe Amazes Again, Lakers Knot Series
LOS ANGELES, June 8 (Ticker) -- Kobe Bryant figured out the defense of the Detroit Pistons, just in time to save the Los Angeles Lakers' season.
Bryant buried a tying 3-pointer with 2.1 seconds left in regulation, then took complete control of overtime as the Lakers scrambled for an emotional 99-91 victory over the Pistons that evened NBA Finals 2004 at one game
each.
Again showing his outstanding abilities in the clutch, Bryant scored 14 of his 33 points in the fourth quarter and overtime as he pulled the Lakers from the brink of facing a 2-0 deficit. L.A. was scant seconds from dropping the first two games at home, something which no team has ever recovered to win the title.
(complete story)
i wasn't able to watch this one, but my imagination captured this moment on NBA courtside live, wherein a Flash window updates the happenings on the court via play-by-play transcription.. jimmy and i were staring at the last update.. it says LA team timeout, 10 seconds remaining; 89-86.. then the next update came.. bryant, jumpshot.. then the score was tied.. 3-points pa ang lintek.. 2 seconds remained, but detroit wasn't able to even take a shot.. then overtime.. then when LA cruised ahead by five in overtime, la na, natulog na lang ako.. hehe..
you gotta give it to Kobe though.. i admire his mental toughness all through out the season despite his on going rape case trial.. but still, Bebe's gonna kill him for that shot..

an ode to jimmy-a-a..
eversince Mobile Backlight Engineering was formed, we expected jimmy to be our leader through thick and thin, though we had more thins than thicks.. and every single first impression on him would rule out that he'd be an advisory engineer.. it simply doesn't show.. he's never serious, cracks jokes from everything he hears, has a knack for creating song medleys you never thought possible (yet you say 'oo nga no!'), a self-proclaimed romnick sarmienta look-alike, and a proven 'bagets-killer'.. but i believed in him, and ronnie, i think, did too.. he proved himself nonetheless, and he's our 'evaluator' now (a term we prefer rather than manager)..
congratulations, i'm sorry.. you're an E50 now, but you will handle us two E40's and an ever moody E30.. that's a total of E110 and we got you outnumbered.. lol..
we were talking yesterday just before we got out of the office.. he saw me doing some last minute workstuff.. he said, "..nagbago ka na ah", i told him, "op kors, manager na kita e.. tsaka iniisip ko kasing walang silbi ang manager ko.. motivation ba" then he answered, "ay.. totoo yan!"
we both had a hearty laugh..
